What Is a CCTV Gutter Inspection?

How camera gutter inspections work, what they show, and when they are worth arranging.

A camera on a pole, viewed from the ground

A CCTV gutter inspection uses a small camera on a telescopic pole, with the footage shown live on a screen at ground level. It means the inside of a gutter can be seen without ladders or scaffolding.

What it shows

Standing water, packed debris, sagging or dropped sections, split joints, displaced brackets and blocked outlets all show up clearly on camera — often long before they are visible from below.

When it is worth doing

It is most useful where the problem cannot be identified from the ground, where the roofline is high or awkward, or where you want evidence of the condition before spending money on access or repairs.
